The Director-General Oyo State Liaison Office, Abuja and Lagos, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, fondly known as OTOPE, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his uncle, Chief (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Makinde, on his elevation to the distinguished title of Aare Onibon Olubadan by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a warm and emotional tribute shared through his media aide, OTOPE described the recognition as “richly deserved” and a reflection of Chief Makinde’s life of service, humility, and commitment to the progress of Ibadanland.
“I am filled with joy and pride as I celebrate my dear uncle, Chief (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Makinde, on his elevation to the revered position of Aare Onibon Olubadan. OTOPE also expressed sincere gratitude to the Olubadan for honoring a “true son of the soil,” adding that the recognition reflects the monarch’s commitment to celebrating excellence and preserving Ibadan’s cultural legacy.
Earlier today, May 9, 2025, in line with Oyo State’s chieftaincy laws, the Olubadan of Ibadanland promoted 14 high-ranking chiefs along the Otun line of succession.
The move follows the recent passing of Ekefa Olubadan, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, and is part of the ongoing traditional transition process that ensures continuity within the revered Olubadan chieftaincy structure.
