Developments from ongoing political engagements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State indicate that Governor Seyi Makinde, alongside key party leaders, are currently shaping consensus arrangements across federal constituencies as part of efforts to maintain party cohesion ahead of the next elections, according to findings by Goalpoachernews.
    ‎
‎Party insiders say the consultations are part of a wider strategy by the PDP leadership in the state to minimize internal rivalry, strengthen zoning harmony, and ensure an easier path to victory in forthcoming polls.
    ‎
‎Goalpoacher gathered that In Oyo Federal Constituency, Hon. Saheed Adeyemi AROSAD from Oyo East has reportedly been endorsed as the consensus candidate ahead of Hon. Busoye Ogunlade from Afijio.
    ‎
‎The endorsement, according to party sources, followed deliberations among PDP stakeholders aligned with Governor Makinde’s political structure and other party leaders seeking balance across local governments.
    ‎
‎In Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. SMATO has been unanimously endorsed by the leaders.
‎Party stakeholders reportedly agreed on his emergence after consultations aimed at preventing a divisive primary, with PDP leaders playing a central role in the decision.
    ‎
‎In Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Hon. Toheed Adegoke has been endorsed by the leaders.
    ‎
‎His selection is said to have come through consensus among constituency stakeholders operating under the broader coordination of the state PDP leadership structure, with strong influence from Governor Makinde’s political network.
    ‎
‎In Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji has been endorsed. His emergence is also believed to reflect internal negotiations among party leaders seeking to maintain equilibrium within the constituency’s political blocs.
    ‎
‎In Oluyole Federal Constituency, Akin Ajao, an adopted candidate of Makinde’s Commissioner, was reportedly imposed on other aspirants.
    ‎
‎Meanwhile, Others have kicked against Ajao’s nomination as the development sparked dissatisfaction among some aspirants, with calls for further engagement and reconciliation within the party ongoing.
    ‎
‎While some persons within the party have their reservations to the consensus arrangements, others say the pattern of consensus selections across constituencies highlights the growing coordination between Governor Makinde’s political network and PDP leaders in the state, aimed at preventing costly primaries and strengthening party unity ahead of the general elections.
