OYO ENDSARS JUDICIAL PANEL, LEGAL AID COUNCIL OF NIGERIA CALL FOR POLICE REFORMATION
Oyo state panel of judicial inquiry on end police brutality has called for the re-orientation of the Nigeria police force in other to be able to perform better maximally and according to the law.
The Chairperson of the panel, former Chief judge in the state, justice Badejoko Adeniji made the call while the Director General of legal aid Council of Nigeria, Aliyu Bagudu Abubakar paid them a courtesy visit at the panel’s secretariat, Ibadan.
Justice Badejoko who attributed the cause of the End police brutality protest to the inappropriate of the Nigeria police also lamented the inconducive prison environment and people incarcerated without offence.
While making his remarks earlier, the director-general of the legal aid Council of Nigeria, Aliyu Bagudu Abubakar who pointed at the indiscriminate arrest of suspected person on a particular case as the cause of congested correctional centers called for the total reformation of the sector.
Abubakar who opined that there should be a radical shift in the way and manner arrest and investigation are being conducted in the country, appealed to the policy makers to reorientate the Nigeria police in other to avoid future reoccurence of End police brutality.
