Former Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Oyo State and Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom, Chief Bisi Ilaka has mourned the demise of former Governor of old Oyo state Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.

Ilaka’s condolence message was contained in a statement signed by Kehinde Owolabi, his aide on Digital Communication, it reads:

“It is with a deep sense of loss and profound respect that I write to acknowledge the passing of a truly remarkable individual, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a Kudeti-born scholar, a giant in every sense of the word, and an irreplaceable presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

When Dr. Olunloyo was made, the mold was broken. I had the distinct privilege of calling him not only a father and mentor but, most particularly, a friend. Our relationship was one that overlapped and crisscrossed at many points, enriched by the many connections we shared with others. These relationships were an integral part of what made him the special man that he was.

“I will forever cherish the countless moments we shared, sitting at his feet and drinking deeply from the vast reservoir of knowledge this giant of a man possessed.

“His influence transcended the borders of Oyo State and South Western Nigeria; it extended to the People’s Democratic Party, where his contributions were invaluable.

“Our conversations spanned a multitude of subjects, too many to enumerate. His wit, his infectious laughter, our intellectual jousting, his candor, his dandy presence, and the generosity with which he shared his wealth of knowledge and wisdom will forever be etched in my heart.

“South Western Nigeria, Oyo State, and the People’s Democratic Party were truly blessed to have had him as part of their family.

“His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the immeasurable contributions he made to his community and country.

“I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the Olunloyo family of Kudeti, Ibadan, and to all who had the privilege of knowing this colossus of a man.

“Finally, I offer my deepest thanks to Olodumare and the Olunloyo family for affording me the opportunity to share in the brilliance and wisdom of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a true gift to mankind.”

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
