Oyo Now On National Map Of OSSAP-SDGs For Technical, Financial Grants Support – Kunle Yusuff
The Senior Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon Kunle Yusuff MON, on Tuesday, expressed happiness over the selection of Oyo State to be part of those to enjoy from the technical and financial grants support of the OSSAP-SDGs.
Hon Yusuff appreciated his Governor Seyi Makinde for giving approval to Oyo State Development Plan, saying that if not for his support, Oyo State wouldn’t have been on National Map of OSSAP- SDGs and UNDP for both Technical and Financial Grants Support.
Yusuff equally noted that Oyo State is represented at the SDGs National Advocacy and Capacity Building Workshop on Nigeria Sustainable Development Goals Plan 2020- 2030, alongside the SDGs Head of Technical Unit, Alhaji Bulihaminun. His words:
“United Nations Development Programme partners with Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs organized Capacity Building Focusing on Integration of SDGs at the State and Local Level, building capacity for Council Chairmen and Head of Local Government Administration, working with Bureau of Statistics for proper data collation analyses and Institutionalise the Implementation of SDGs framework in State, role of Bureaucrat on SDGs Implementations and Local Governments.”
“Investments in Youths for Sustainable Development is also given priority at the second voluntary National Review.
UNDP also used the opportunity to review Human Development report 2019.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs also used the medium to share 5years of SDGs Impact in Nigeria. Year 2020 ushered the World into a Decade Action for Sustainable Development Goals.”
“Here is the chronicle of major steps, Initiatives and ground frameworks put in a place by Nigeria in the last five years to accelerate the 2030 Agenda in the next 10years.
From the onset of year 2020, the Global community has 10years to achieve the overall Agenda of “Leaving No One Behind”.
In realization of the need to accelerate efforts directed at achieving the goals, the global community has declared the next years Decade of Action.
At this point, we have to appreciate Governor Seyi Makinde for giving approval to Oyo State Development Plan if not Oyo State wouldn’t have been on National Map of OSSAP- SDGs and UNDP for both Technical and Financial Grants Support.” Hon Kunle Yusuff concluded.
