In a bid to ensure a spiritually fulfilling and ethically sound pilgrimage, the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa fondly called ‘Tommy’ has organized a comprehensive sensitization programme for its officials selected to perform the Hajj this year.

The event underscored the significance of maintaining exemplary conduct and upholding the sacred principles of the Hajj, a cornerstone of Islamic faith.

The program featured insightful addresses from prominent religious and community leaders.

Alhaji AbdulMojeed Lanase, the Chief Imam Omituntun, delivered a compelling speech elaborating on the profound significance of Hajj, emphasizing its spiritual rewards and the responsibilities it entails.

Engr. Abduljelyl Karheem, the esteemed Mogaji Adanla and Turaki Adini of Oyo State, further expounded on the spiritual dimensions of the pilgrimage, cautioning against spiritual “fornication” and urging pilgrims to remain steadfast in their devotion.

The event served as a platform for key stakeholders to express their appreciation for the transformative leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and the unwavering support of Otunba Seye Famojuro.

Their contributions were recognized as instrumental in facilitating the Hajj opportunity for PMS officials.

The sensitization programme was attended by a host of notable figures, including representatives from Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, Otunba Seye Famojuro himself, Hon. Babatunde Tijani, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Oladebo Simple, the Executive Vice-Chairman and Political Head of Ajorosun LCDA, and Hon. Lukman Alaga Mewa.

Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to supporting religious observances and promoting ethical conduct within the PMS.

In another development, the PMS chairman lauded the visionary initiative and consistent support of Governor Seyi Makinde and Otunba Seye Famojuro for their pivotal role in fundamentally repositioning the PMS.

Omolewa highlighted the remarkable transformation of the PMS, which had previously struggled with a negative reputation due to associations with thuggery and hooliganism.

He expressed profound gratitude that PMS members are now being afforded the esteemed opportunity to embark on the Hajj pilgrimage, a testament to the organization’s positive evolution.

Ambassador Omolewa passionately urged the departing pilgrims to embrace the spirit of the Hajj by consistently demonstrating impeccable conduct and diligently avoiding any form of sharp practices during their sojourn in Saudi Arabia.

He emphasized the importance of representing Oyo State and the PMS with dignity and integrity, serving as ambassadors of goodwill and piety.

The sensitization programme concluded with prayers for a safe, successful, and spiritually enriching Hajj experience for all the pilgrims.

The high point of the event was presentation of cash to the twenty-five PMS official going for the pilgrimage by Otunba Seye Famojuro on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde.
