Oyo RUWASSA Greets Residents on Sallah,Urges Use of Clean Water, Environment During Celebration
Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) has called on the people of Oyo State, especially rural dwellers to be wary of the type of water they drink during the Sallah celebration and after.
In a statement signed by the Chairman Oyo RUWASSA, Engr. Najeem Omirinde and made available to newsmen on Thursday, the people were, especially those that traveled from urban to rural areas in the State to celebrate Sallah were asked to drink only from the best water source and maintain all regulations related to Covid-19.
Omirinde reiterated the State administration’s stance on provision of portable water to rural dwellers as a core dividend of democracy.
“While greeting Muslim community in Oyo State, Oke-Ogun, especially the good people of Saki, we urge them to please adhere strictly to the tenets of Covid-19 regulations and drink water that is sourced from the best places.
“The present administration has seen portable water provision as the important, for us to fight disease and the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic, we must have a good source of water and we are already doing the needful in that line.
“During Sallah people use all sorts of water to wash meat and foodstuffs, not to talk of the water they drink, it is pertinent we use water that is clean,” he advised.
