Oyo SDG Donates 20,000 Nose Masks to Health Ministry, Promises Bed Other Materials for Primary, Secondary Health Care
Oyo State Government, through the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals Hon. Kunle Yusuf MON has urged people to comply with Covid – 19 protocols, just as he donated Twenty Thousand (KN 95) Nose Masks to prevent the spread of Covid -19 pandemic in the State.
He stated this during a symbolic presentation of Twenty Thousand (20,000) Nose Masks to the management of the State Ministry of Health, Secretariat, Ibadan, the State Capital.
He said Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) is an institution of United Nation, Federal Government, State Government, Local Government with donors development partners and Civil Society Organizations.
According to him, “SDG Presidency in Abuja do the random statistics of Covid -19, State that has performed well and on this note Oyo State performed well, we were given (KN 95) Nose Masks, 100 beds and 100 pillows for the use of the people of Oyo State from SDG Presidency and His Excellency Governor, Seyi Makinde directed that we should hand it over to the Ministry of Health for Primary and Secondary Health Care usage”.
Hon Yusuff pointed out that when the present Administration came on board (SDG) in Oyo State was in bottom level in terms of rating, “when we came on board, we only met three development partners that is working with various Ministry in the State, today SDG have more than 11 development partners that are visibly working with SDG in various Ministries as far as SDG is concerned.
“This is the first time since 1999 that we have a Government that the whole Agenda is arround the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG is about development Health, Education and Agriculture”
He enjoined people of the State to adhere strictly with Covid-19 protocols, like wearing of Nose Masks, hands-washing, observing social distancing and others.
