The Caretaker Chairman of Omi-Apata Local Council Development Area Hon Sheriff Adeojo has distributed empowerment materials to youths drawn across the wards and also exercise books to primary school pupils within Omi-Apata LCDA jurisdiction.
In his address, Hon Sheriff Adeojo said the programme was aimed at complementing the Oyo State Governor’s efforts at improving the education sector and also put smile on the faces of the unemployed youths by distributing empowerment materials to them.
Hon Sheriff Adeojo further stated that his administration has embarked on various projects and programmes. He said ” my administration has embarked on drilling of boreholes at Bakatari, Ogundele Alaho, Siba, Ile tuntun, council secretariat, distribution of chairs and desks to primary schools, empowerment of widows and aged, empowerment of physically challenged, dredging of streams and rivers, construction of LCDA secretariat fence, empowerment of farmers, launching of Omi-Apata LCDA rice and many more”.
The council boss also said “youths drawn across the LCDA smile home with sewing machines, grinding machines, clippers with generating sets, hair dryers, knapsack sprayers and bags of fertilizers.
In their various remarks at the ceremony the Chairman Association of Headteachers of Nigeria Ido LG Com M. A Bukola and NUT Chairperson (Com) Mrs. O. A Suara commended the council boss for his various laudable initiatives.
Some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme in their responses Aminu Wasiu, and Wasiu Akinsola appreciated Hon Sheriff Adeojo for giving them the materials.
Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion include Secretary to the Local Government Hon Samod Busari, caretaker members, Acting Head of Local Government Administration Mrs Bamishile Abigail, Heads of Departments, Deputy Directors, Heads of Units, PDP faithful and a host of others.
