PHOTOS: Tommy Visits Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland, Seeks Peaceful Coexistence Among Okada Riders
The Chairman of Oyo State Park Management System, PMS, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland.
According to Tommy, the courtesy visit was aimed at combating criminal activities as well as fostering peaceful coexistence among all motorcycle riders of different tribes within the State and most especially Ibadan.
Tommy said, “When I was appointed as the Chairman Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) by His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, I was given the mandate to reform and restructure the system which we all knew had been tagged with brigandage , violence, indiscipline and criminal activities.
“I promised then that the present PMS would be the best, it will be crime free in all aspects.
“Myself alongside other appointed State Executives have taken it upon ourselves to give whatever it takes to ensure that we do not disappoint the Governor who gave us this mandate.
“Part of this reform and restructuring is the visit we embarked on today to the Palace of the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland.
“The main purpose of this visit is for us to deliberate on the modalities which we can use in combating the criminal activities as well tribal peaceful coexistence within the State and most especially Ibadan.
“We have received complaints about the Hausa riders and there is a need for us to take action immediately, we discussed on how we can have the total numbers of Hausa riders in every junctions, parks and garages through the assistant of the Hausa Community Chief Security Officer and the Hausa Community Youth Leader.
“We have arrived at a conclusion on the ways to achieving that.
“I hereby appreciate the Governor of Oyo State, the working Governor, Governor of the masses, the ever tireless Governor for the opportunity and I hereby reaffirm my 100% support for Omituntun 2.0, Sustainable Development.
