The Progressive Youth Forum, a socio-political group, has strongly condemned Mogaji Wale Ladoja for his recent disparaging remarks about Oloye Bayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power.

Ladoja’s comments, made during the BOSENLO programme on Lagelu FM on April 19, 2025, have sparked significant backlash.

In his statement, Ladoja characterised Adelabu as “stingy,” claiming that during their interactions, Adelabu refused to cover even a simple drink. He further asserted that anyone aspiring to govern Oyo State should have a history of philanthropy.

Responding to Ladoja’s remarks, the Progressive Youth Forum, through its spokesperson Mr. Femi Adedoja expressed deep disapproval.

The Forum questioned Ladoja’s credibility to criticise Adelabu, highlighting the latter’s substantial contributions to the local economy through his hospitality businesses, which have provided employment for numerous Ibadan residents.

“Mogaji Wale Ladoja lacks the moral authority to tarnish Adelabu’s reputation, especially as he is the largest private employer in Oyo State, second only to the state government,” the statement emphasised.

The Forum also pointed out that Ladoja and Adelabu have never had a personal relationship, raising doubts about the validity of Ladoja’s criticisms.
They noted Ladoja’s troubled history, including his removal as head of his family by the late Olubadan of Ibadan and his ousting from the Odua Group’s board, citing past allegations of land grabbing.
The Progressive Youth Forum concluded by urging Ladoja to retract his statements or face potential legal repercussions for his unfounded claims against Adelabu.
