The chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation Chief (Bar.) Bayo lawal has urged Oyo State indigenes and Nigerians at large to continuously pray and supplicate to God on behalf of Nigeria and Oyo State government being led by Engr. Seyi Makinde. This he made known during a chat with journalists after the annual Ramadan lecture organized by the Oyo State housing corporation Muslim community.

Chief Bayo lawal who also gave kudos to the governor maintained that it is through the governor’s goodwill that Oyo State housing corporation was brought back to life after years of been grounded.
He said, “Firstly, I want to say that this corporation is a very good corporation right from the old western region times. Even after western region was divided it was renamed Oyo State property development commission but a point came that it was wrecked but thank God for Governor Seyi Makinde who has tried in bringing back to life this corporation again.
“Governor Makinde has been generous in dealing with us. The transformation that you’re seeing here is through governor Seyi Makinde. He tells me, “Barrister, this is your budget, go and implement it. I don’t need anything more than that from him.
He hasn’t hindered us in doing anything, that’s a profound encouragement and it has yielded positively to transforming this complex. Just take a look around, we have substantially transform this headquarters but I’m not satisfy nor stopping here. I’m looking at wealth creation and a revenue based Oyo State housing corporation and that can only happen not only at the headquarter but on the fields. As we speak we have an ongoing project at Ajoda where we are creating about a thousand plot. In other words, what we’re trying to do is to create a town within town and I know that by the time we complete it in a couple of months, our revenue base will be expanded.
Chief lawal while also commending the staffs and members of the corporation also urged them to do more and give more to the corporation. He noted that though the members of staffs are doing well but that they need to keep it up and also do more.
“In the last two years, my experience here is that although my workers are working very hard but I’m only challenging them to work more, to do more. It can never be enough anywhere in the world. There’s no limit to human capacity, that’s the thrust of my remark. I’m not saying they are lazy but they can do more and that’s the whole essence of working.
One should keep on working and working and there’s this English adage that says “industry doesn’t destroy” that’s if you’re industrious, you’re creating. I want them to create more and impact positively on our activities.
In his lecture, the chief Imam of Quadriyyah in Oyo State, Ustas Sheikh (Alhaji) Murtadha Muhammad Thanni enjoined Muslims to use this holy month to beg God for the situation of Nigeria most especially as it concerns security, economy and infrastructure.
The Islamic cleric who spoke on the the topic “Islamic Solution to the societal ills in Nigeria” maintained that there’s no problem in this world that doesn’t have its solution written somewhere on the pages of the Quran.
He stressed that God is the author of everything and at this present time it is only God who can deliver Nigeria and our own responsibility is to keep seeking God’s face for our nation. He emphasized the role of parents in building a society that’s free of vices stating that parents should stop the act of supporting their wards who are morally bankrupt. He challenged parents who give support to their children in behaving unruly and engaging in acts that are contrary to the word of God but that they should discipline them and show them the right way.
