Speech Delivered by Ibarapakan at The Commissioning of 9 Projects in Ibarapa Centra/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency

Today, being Tuesday, April 30, 2024, marks a significant milestone in our journey towards achieving progress, development and a brighter future for our beloved constituency.

It is with honour and prestige that I commission nine developmental projects and flag off the construction of Sagaun-Onimangoro Road, Igboora.

The road linking Wema Bank, Town Hall Igboora, Polaris Bank, Methodist Grammar School, Igboora, Owotutu filling stations’ headquarters, Adegoke College, Onimangoro Divisional Police Station, NDLEA Office, Igboora, Olu-Aso of Iberekodo Palace and Eruwa Road is facilitated by me to lessen the pain of people plying the road every day.

The road, when completed, will result in the rapid growth of the aforementioned areas.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the people of Ibarapa Central and North for giving me your mandate to represent you in the Nigerian House of Representatives. Your support, words of encouragement and advice have been the driving force behind my unwavering commitment to serving our constituency.

These nine projects, which include a solar-powered cold room in Oja Igboora, Igboora, three cassava processing plants in different communities of our constituency, motorised boreholes, and others, are a proof of our collective efforts towards improving the standards of living in our constituency. These projects are strategically facilitated to address various challenges faced by our people, particularly our farmers across the constituency, who are the backbone of our economy. Without God and them, we wouldn’t be here today.

As I said in my various broadcasts, the solar-powered cold room will reduce food waste and increase productivity, while the cassava processing plants will provide a sustainable source of income for our farmers. The motorised boreholes will ensure access to clean water, a necessary amenity in our communities.

These projects would largely be a mirage without the continued support of our constituents, the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Oyo State Government, headed by our hardworking Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and other key stakeholders in our constituency. I appreciate your valuable contributions, brilliant ideas and commitment to our shared vision.

As we commission these projects today, I want to assure you, the good and hardworking people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, that we will continue to work tirelessly to address pressing issues and challenges facing our constituency. We will strive to create an enabling environment for economic growth, social development and political stability that we can always promise with a sheer spirit of fulfilment.

Aside from these projects being commissioned today, we have facilitated so many job opportunities for constituents in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in different agencies and parastatals of the federal government of Nigeria, which include but are not limited to the Bureau of Statistics, Immigration, Civil Defence, Nigerian Army, Customs, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Television Authority, the Nigeria Police Force, the Human Rights Commission, etc. The beneficiaries of these job opportunities are drawn from across the five towns that make up the federal contituency.

The beneficiaries of our scholarship offers are also doing well in our various higher institutions of learning. We will also continue to invest in our special educational intervention programmes, which have continued to enhance the quality of education in our communities.

Having said that, we have also raised motions and bills that will bring about more developmental projects in our federal constituency.

Let us celebrate this achievement of project commissioning today, but let us also remember that there is still much work to be done. We also take with the utmost seriousness the genuine concerns of some of our community members. Before the end of this tenure, I promise that no community will feel cheated or underrepresented in our federal constituency. I will continue to listen to you so as to know the areas to work on, the things to be done, and other aspects of our lives to attend to with urgency.

Let us continue to work together, with mutual understanding and respect, to build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.

Thank you, and may God bless our constituency and our nation.
