Tinubu Meets Chairman Oyo Council of Obas, Olubadan of Ibadanland

‎President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday held a meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

‎The meeting, which was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

‎The meeting took place in the president’s office and was captured in official photographs released by the State House.

‎Although details of the discussions are not officially disclosed at press time, the high-level engagement is believed to have focused on issues of national development, traditional institution reforms, security, and socio-economic advancement, particularly as they affect Oyo State and the South-West region, as well as the creation of Ibadan State.

‎The visit underscores the continued importance of traditional rulers in Nigeria’s governance structure, especially in fostering peace, unity, grassroots development, and cultural preservation.

‎The Olubadan, as the paramount ruler of Ibadanland, plays a critical role in mobilising community support for government policies and promoting harmonious coexistence.

‎The meeting further reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to sustained dialogue with traditional institutions as strategic partners in nation-building, conflict resolution, and grassroots development initiatives.
