Local Security outfit, Soludero, on Monday arrested three suspected kidnappers in Komu community, Itesiwaju local government area of Oyo State.
Mr Lanre Elusade, the Oyo State Commandant who confirmed the arrest to Goalpoacher news on Wednesday, said it took them time to trace and fish-out the suspected kidnappers after gathering adequate information about the influx and activities of the suspected kidnappers.
The State Commandant used this opportunity to solicit support from the Oyo State government to able to fight criminal elements hibernating in Oyo State forests.
Mr Elusade added that the security agency has concluded plans to start a state wide awareness for residents to always contact Soludero security outfit for quick intervention when they notice any strangers who indulge in act that could breach security in their communities.
“We got a report from residents whose lives had been threatened by a group of suspected kidnappers, though we don’t call them suspects now but accused because they have already confessed to the crime.
“Our Officer, Comrade Ayinbonlu Esu led the onslaught against them beneath a mountain in a thick forest.
The State Commandant added that the suspects were immediately brought Oyo State Police Headquarters, Eleyele where they were handed over to the Commissioner of Police for further investigations.
On his part, the State Secretary of Soludero, Engr Oladele Samuel assured that the security unit would not relent its efforts towards flushing-out bad eggs out of the communities in Oyo State.
According to Oladele, “residents are tired of this menace and that’s why they said, we must bring an end to it, however, we cannot prosecute, like the State Commandant said, we have handed them over to the police for further inquiries,’’ he said.
Some of the items recovered from them include, charms, swords and unused airtime vouchers.
