VIDEO: Tommy Issues Stern Warning to Transport Stakeholders Ahead of Davido’s ‘5ive’ Concert in Ibadan

…says event will boost tourism, youth engagement, and local economy
The Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, popularly known as “Tommy,” has issued a stern warning to transport stakeholders across the state ahead of the forthcoming Davido’s ‘5ive’ concert scheduled to hold in Ibadan on Sunday.

Ambassador Tomiwa cautioned all unit heads, branch chairmen at various motor parks, including motorcycle and tricycle operators, to maintain strict orderliness and cooperate fully with the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development and members of the concert’s organising committee to ensure a smooth and safe event.
He stressed that any branch chairman or transport leader found fomenting trouble during the concert would be immediately removed from office and handed over to security agencies for prosecution.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the PMS boss noted that Davido’s ‘5ive’ concert would bring immense benefits to Oyo State, especially in terms of economic growth, youth engagement, and cultural promotion.
According to him, the concert is expected to boost tourism and local commerce, as hotels, transport operators, and small-scale traders are likely to record increased patronage.
He added that the event also aligns with the state government’s commitment to youth empowerment, with thousands of free tickets already distributed to young residents.
Tommy further highlighted that the concert would not only showcase Oyo’s vibrant cultural identity through performances by indigenous artistes such as Keanzo, Fabulous Pizzy, Dele Omo Woli, and Sadeblaq, but also position Ibadan as a major entertainment hub capable of attracting more visitors and investors.
He assured residents and visitors of adequate security arrangements and smooth transport operations throughout the event, urging everyone to support the state’s efforts in promoting peace and development.
