What Otun Olubadan Said About Seyi Makinde, Olubadan’s Wife
The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Royal Highness Oba Lekan Balogun has reaffirmed that the creation and crowning of some high chiefs in Ibadanland was down in the best interest of the people of Ibadan.
The next in rank to the Olubadan stool made this statement while featuring on the popular Yoruba interview programme, Oju Abe on Kay International Television on YouTube anchored by Elder Kayode Bamiduro.
According to HRH Balogun there are fifty three crowned traditional rulers in Lagos State alone and it has no negative effects on the position of the Oba of Lagos, adding that Ibadan newly crowned Obas equally has not reduced the position and power of Oba Saliu Adetunji as the paramount ruler.
Otun Olubadan who commended the late Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for taking the initiative, said the newly elevated Ibadan high chiefs have no relationship yet with the present Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde but hope they will soon have positive relationship.
On the court case initiated to quash their elevation to the status of kings, Oba Balogun said the matter will soon be withdrawn from court and amicable solution would be adopted to end the feud. He further opined that the Olori of Olubadan can be part of any traditional council meeting since she is part and parcel of the palace.
