House of Representatives hopeful for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Tosin Alabi, has declared that the visionary leadership and inclusive governance style of Seyi Makinde played a defining role in his decision to actively pursue political office.

Alabi, a lawyer and cybersecurity expert, made this known during a radio interview on Splash FM 105.5, on the popular programme Parrot Xtra, anchored by veteran broadcaster Olayinka Agboola.

Speaking on his motivation for venturing into active politics, the PDP aspirant emphasized that politics is not limited to those holding public office.

According to him, “We are all politicians, whether actively or passively engaged. However, active participation requires passion, courage, and a genuine desire to give back to society.”

He explained that his aspiration is deeply rooted in his commitment to the growth and development of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

“My mission is to drive sustainable development and deliver meaningful representation that directly impacts the lives of my people,” he stated.

Providing insight into his professional background, Alabi disclosed that he is a seasoned legal practitioner and cybersecurity expert with experience working with multinational corporations, including Fortune 500 companies. He noted that outside politics, his primary focus remains law and cybersecurity.

On party affiliation, Alabi gave a firm and unambiguous response, aligning himself fully with the PDP under the leadership of Governor Makinde.

He praised the governor for fostering an enabling environment that encourages youth participation in governance.

“The magnanimity, vision, and leadership style of Governor Makinde make public service attractive.

He has given young people the confidence and platform to step forward and represent their communities,” Tosin Alabi said.

Addressing speculations about his gubernatorial ambition, he clarified that his public visibility, including billboards across the constituency, was part of broader initiatives of the Tosin Alabi Foundation, rather than a singular political ambition.

Demonstrating his deep connection with the grassroots, Alabi reeled off several communities within the constituency, including Amuloko, Olorunsogo, Oremeji, Badeku, Iwo Road, Ajorosun, Alakia, Gbagi, Wakajaye, Erunmu etc highlighting his familiarity with the people he seeks to represent.

On what fuels his optimism, Alabi pointed to the overwhelming support and calls from constituents urging him to step forward.

“When people call on you to represent them, it becomes a responsibility you must answer with purpose.

That, for me, is a great source of motivation,” he said.

Assessing Governor Makinde’s performance, Alabi rated him highly.

He commended the administration’s strides in cybersecurity, data protection, and digital governance, noting that Oyo State has recorded significant progress in secure data management and digital property systems.

He further lauded the governor’s achievements in youth empowerment, job creation, civil service recruitment, and grassroots development, asserting that the impact of governance is widely felt across sectors including education, agriculture, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship.

According to him, “meaningful governance is only possible through purposeful leadership, and Oyo State is currently experiencing that under Governor Makinde.”

Alabi also praised the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare, citing the regular payment of salaries and pensions, as well as the N10,000 transport palliative introduced to cushion the effects of fuel price increases.

Speaking on youth development, Alabi advised young Nigerians to prioritize value creation over the pursuit of quick wealth.

Drawing from his experience at a recent leadership programme in New York, he stressed that sustainable success is built on value.

“This generation must understand that value creates wealth, not the other way around.

When you build yourself and become valuable, financial success will naturally follow,” he counseled.

He concluded by expressing appreciation to the people of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency for their continued support, pledging to deliver impactful and people-oriented representation if given the mandate.

“I remain committed to making a meaningful difference, not just in my constituency, but across Oyo State,” he affirmed.
