The Yoruba Youth Council (YYC) – Ìgbìmọ̀ Àpapọ̀ Ọdọ́ Yorùbá Lágbàáyé, the foremost umbrella body for Yoruba youths across the world, rejoices with her Grand Patron, Engr. (Chief) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan, on his well-deserved honour as Okanlomo Oodua, conferred by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife and Co-Chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.

This prestigious recognition stands as a resounding testament to Engr. Sanusi’s decades of impactful leadership, cultural preservation, philanthropic service, and unwavering commitment to youth development across Yorubaland and in extension, the entire Oodua race spread across the globe.

The Council describes Engr. Sanusi not merely as a leader, but “a father, mentor, and true role model whose influence has shaped countless young people into responsible nation-builders.”

Speaking on the honour, the National President of the Council, Aare Alawode Rahmon, extolled Engr. Sanusi’s exceptional character and far-reaching contributions, noting that, “Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi represents the finest qualities of Yoruba excellence. His dedication to empowering young people, nurturing communities, and promoting cultural identity has earned him the love and respect of the Yoruba nation. The title of Okanlomo Oodua by the most revered Ooni of Ife is not just appropriate, but a celebration of who he already is to us.”

Also speaking, Hon. Sunday Adebowale, the National Vice President (Ogun State), described him as “a man whose heart beats for the progress of Yorubaland; a father whose generosity knows no bounds; and a leader whose humility continues to inspire us.”

In their separate remarks, Barr. Deji Folson (National Secretary), Ms. Monsurat Akintilo (Welfare Director), and Comrade Olasupo Qozeem (Financial Secretary) all from their respective states in the South-West, emphasized that Engr. Sanusi’s sustained commitment to community development and youth empowerment has positioned him as a pillar of hope and a shining embodiment of authentic Yoruba values. They added that the Council looks forward to more purpose-driven collaborations with the office of the Okanlomo Oodua toward life-changing initiatives that will benefit the South-West region and humanity at large.

As Yoruba youths at home and in the diaspora celebrate this remarkable recognition, the Council reaffirms its unwavering support and prayers for Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi. His journey remains a guiding light for the younger generation — a powerful reminder that true honour is earned through service, integrity, and steadfast dedication to humanity.

Congratulations once again to Okanlomo Oodua — a father, a role model, and a living symbol of Yoruba pride.

Ọmọlúàbí ni mí, Ọmọ Kaaro Oòjíire!
