“Your concept of MFP is well thought out”, Oyo SSG tells MFP leadership

The Secretary to Oyo State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde has lauded the concept of Multidisciplinary Finance Professionals Group/MFP Global Services which is the convergence of Chartered Accountants with diverse skills and specializations to address knowledge gaps in the Country.

According to him, this is the way to go as a Nation to ensure growth and development. If Professionals and scholars come together in this manner, they will look at things from different perspectives which is going to be holistic.

These statements were made by the SSG when the leadership of MFP led by Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA, JP paid a Courtesy Visit to him at his office today.

The Secretary to Oyo State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde assured the leadership of MFP Group/MFP Global Services of effective partnership to beef up the capacity of civil servants, appointees of government, retirees and students on financial matters.

The courtesy visit which took place at the Conference room of the SSG was a platform to initiate and agree on ways of collaboration with the State government in the areas of capacity building of civil/public servants, political appointees, people in the informal sector and students on financial matters.

The training program will assist the operators within the informal sector to know the impact of policies of government on their various businesses and how they can navigate such complexities.

The President/CEO of MFP Group/MFP Global Services, Dr. Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA, JP gave a brief background of the group stating its core objectives and plans for the future. In his words, “MFP was formed to address the knowledge gaps in the Country particularly on financial matters. According to him, no nation can thrive beyond the financial knowledge of her operators. Inadequate knowledge is the bane of economic development in the Country”

According to the MFP boss, the group is poised to bridge the knowledge gaps by organizing periodic workshops, seminars and symposiums physically and virtually for both the private and public sector of the economy. The group is also determined to publish journals periodically to broaden the knowledge of people on financial and other topical issues. MFP group has sponsored eight webinars at no cost to the participants. He listed the webinars and their facilitators who are seasoned professionals and scholars across the globe.

The MFP top brass used the opportunity to inform the SSG of earlier visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, FNSE to partner with the Monarch in training and retraining of people in the informal sector of the economy on financial matters.

The courtesy visit was attended by the Executive Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Kolawole Gafar Bello, FCA, Council Member of ICAN, Mr. ‘Biodun Adedeji, FCA, Chairman of Ibadan & District Society of ICAN, Mrs. Funmi Omisore, FCA, Past Chairman of Ibadan & District Society of ICAN, Dr. (Mrs) Tope Babajide, FCA, Professor Yinka Adenikinju, FCA, Mr Adeniyi Aogo, FCA, Deacon Gbenga Afolabi, FCA, Mr Olagoke Akanwo, FCA, Mrs Folasade Kumuyi, FCA, Mrs Olayemi Ayodeji, FCA and Mr Gboye Adelabu, FCA.
