The Oyo State House of Assembly, today passed ₦892 billion into law as the State’s 2026 Appropriation Bill.
Lawmakers after considering the final stage of the budget process at the sitting presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, passed the budget into law
The House examined the total budget estimate of ₦891,985,074,480.79, comprising ₦389.3 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦502.6 billion for capital expenditure earlier presented to it by Governor Seyi Makinde.
After careful consideration, the house made necessary adjustments and later arrived at #892 billion naira and passed same
Despite the amendment to the original appropriation bill, infrastructure still has the highest allocation in the new budget.
It would be recalled that the lawmakers had earlier scrutinised the estimates through committee reviews and budget defence sessions with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
After the passage of the Bill by the house, The Residents of the state await the final assent of Governor Makinde.
