1,089 Constituents sit for Ibarapakan UTME Aptitude Test in Federal Constituency

 

No fewer than one thousand and eighty nine constituents across the Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency sat for the aptitude test organised by Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju for prospective UTME candidates in the two local government areas of Oyo State on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Hon. Adepoju had on Saturday, January 27, 2024, announced free UTME scholarships and constituency-wide tutorial classes for prospective jambites in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas in a bid to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, in enhancing the standard of education in the state.

The aptitude test was put together to select constituents to win the lawmaker’s free 2024 UTME forms across the constituency; this, according to the lbarapa-born technocrat cum politician, was done to demonstrate his commitment to academic excellence and to bring about academic competitiveness among the students of the federal constituency.

According to the coordinator of the aptitude test in the constituency, Com. Kamoru Ojewola, 449 prospective UTME candidates sat for the aptitude test in Igboora, 167 in Idere, 136 in Ayete, 110 in Tapa, while Igangan recorded 227 UTME candidates for the aptitude test.

Commenting on the success of the test despite the short notice, Hon. Adepoju said the turnout of students is proof of the seriousness of the younger generation towards education and the never-tiring attitude of his team.

The lawmaker also expressed optimism that any candidate who sails through the aptitude test will come out with flying colours in the April 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Hon. Adepoju, however, appreciated the coordinators, supervisors, school principals, tutors, parents, security agents, volunteers and other individuals who contributed to the success of the test in the federal constituency, stressing that it takes a village to raise a child and that it brings joy that the people of the constituency demonstrate that proverbial saying on a daily basis.
