The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has sent a New Year message to nigerians, expressing gratitude to God for divine interventions despite economic and insecurity challenges that bedevilled the country in the outgone year.

In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim, Arapaja said: “It is worthy to give thanks and adoration to God for the opportunity given us to witness the brand new year, 2024.”

Recalling the challenges of 2023, he said: “The just concluded year came and went with challenges, especially the economic downturn, cash crunch, fuel subsidy removal, insecurity in every parts of the country and many touching stories of tragedies. For those who lost their loved ones in these calamities, it is my prayer that God shall continue to comfort the bereaved families.”

On his optimism for 2024, Arapaja said that this New Year, 2024 is going to be a remarkable one. “It is one year that will be filled with hope and optimism. It is one year that shall come with a unique opportunity for us to redefine a successful pathway for our country. Our New Year resolution should be about eschewing divisive and parochial tendencies and embracing inclusion and the general good. That is the commitment that we must pursue in this New Year.

While I congratulate Nigerians on this New Year, let me urge all the good people of Oyo State to be law abiding and continue to give maximum support to the government of Engr. Seyi Makinde under the Omi tuntun 2.0 Administration so that he can give us more dividends of democracy in this year 2024. Unity, love and peace should be the hallmark and driving force of every Nigerian ” He urged.
