The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South, Hon. Remi Abass Oseni, today paid a courtesy visit to the residence of Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja. Both leaders held fruitful discussions on the party’s future and pledged to work together to deliver total victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

Warmly receiving the senatorial candidate, Ambassador Arapaja expressed strong confidence in Hon. Oseni’s capacity to effectively represent the people of Oyo South.

In a statement made available to journalists after the meeting by Ambassador Arapaja’s Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim, Arapaja assured Oseni of his unwavering support and declared his total commitment to the victory of all APC candidates in 2027—from the presidency down to state assembly seats.

Describing Hon. Oseni as a high-performing lawmaker, Ambassador Arapaja noted that his track record in the House of Representatives speaks for itself.

He praised Oseni’s impact through massive empowerment initiatives, the distribution of transformers and solar streetlights, and various community development projects.

Arapaja added that such remarkable achievements in the lower chamber serve as clear proof that Oseni will deliver even greater results in the Senate.

Speaking on the upcoming presidential election, Ambassador Arapaja urged Nigerians—particularly the South-West region—to unite behind the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He emphasized that supporting President Tinubu is a matter of equity, fairness, and continuity, stressing that the region must stand firm to ensure their son completes his constitutional eight-year tenure. Arapaja further commended Hon. Oseni, describing him as a humble, loyal, and dependable leader who is genuinely deserving of the electorate’s trust.

Also speaking at the gathering, Mogaji Abass Oloko welcomed Hon. Oseni, reaffirmed his total support for his candidacy.

While addressing political critics who continue to target Ambassador Arapaja, Mogaji Oloko questioned why the detractors remain obsessed with Arapaja long after his departure from their fold.

He described Arapaja as a true grassroots politician whose political weight, influence, and credibility cannot be eroded by propaganda.

In his response, Hon. Remi Abass Oseni paid a glowing tribute to Ambassador Arapaja, calling him a trusted ally, reliable leader, and dependable teammate.

He recalled their longstanding political bond dating back to their work with former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, as well as their joint efforts in building the coalition that reshaped Oyo State politics starting in 2018.

Reflecting on his political journey, Hon. Oseni revealed that at the inception of the current Oyo State administration, Governor Seyi Makinde asked him what he wanted from the government. Oseni stated that he requested no personal political appointments or favors, asking only for the Governor’s backing to succeed him after his tenure.

However, when it became clear that the understanding would not be honoured, Oseni chose to walk away with his dignity intact rather than compromise his principles. He reiterated that true leadership must be anchored on trust, sincerity, and respect for agreements.

The high-level meeting was attended by several notable party leaders and stakeholders loyal to Ambassador Arapaja including Hon. Fadipe Jimoh, Hon. Banjo “Bigger”, Hon. Sina Olapoju, Hon. Sunday Babatunde, and Hon. Sarafa Alade.

Similarly, Hon. Remi Oseni was accompanied by Alhaji Taiwo Okedina, Hon. Momud Apaoyin, Seun Olawoore, Pastor Taiwo Bakare among others

The visit highlights the growing alignment and momentum within the APC as the party consolidates its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
