Fresh indications have emerged regarding succession plans ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, as sources close to the political circle of Governor Seyi Makinde revealed that a preferred candidate may have quietly taken center stage.
    ‎
‎According to information obtained by Goalpoachernews from credible insiders, the governor’s anointed aspirant attended a high level stakeholders meeting, an event described as pivotal in shaping the political direction of the state ahead of the next general elections.
    ‎
‎Sources say the emergence of the aspirant was not accidental but part of a carefully coordinated move.
    ‎
‎The individual, said to be from Ibadan reportedly engaged with key political stakeholders during the meeting, signaling what many observers interpret as a strategic introduction to the inner political circle.

The anointed candidate also met with party stakeholders, Oyo Assembly stakeholders and other prominent individuals within and outside Ibadan and local government chairmen.
    ‎
‎In a development that further underscores the seriousness of the move, the aspirant has appeared before an elders council, where discussions centered on endorsement ahead of a formal public announcement.
    ‎
‎The meeting, insiders noted, was crucial in building consensus among influential figures within the state’s political structure.
    ‎
‎There are also growing indications that the political movement surrounding the governor and his loyalists may be shifting toward a party different from the parties being speculated, although no official confirmation has been made.
    ‎
‎While the name has not been officially confirmed, the figure has reportedly been advised to begin preparations for an acceptance speech and to initiate steps toward a full fledged campaign.
    ‎
‎Though the governor has not made any public declaration regarding a successor, political watchers believe these recent developments point to an unfolding succession strategy that could shape the landscape of the 2027 elections in the state.
    ‎
‎As anticipation builds, stakeholders and residents alike are waiting for an official announcement that may finally put an end to the growing speculation surrounding the governor’s preferred successor.
