‎The Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oloye Taofeek Adegboyega, has inaugurated his campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election, appointing Adebayo Olusola Kesh, Esq., as Director-General of the campaign.
    ‎
‎The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday at Adegboyega’s campaign office in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where the ADC candidate outlined key areas of his proposed administration and pledged to pursue reforms aimed at improving governance and the welfare of residents across the state.
    ‎
‎Adegboyega promised to strengthen local government administration by ensuring full autonomy for the councils if elected governor, stressing that local governments must be empowered to effectively serve the people at the grassroots.
    ‎
‎He said, “If given the opportunity to serve Oyo State as Governor, the local government will have full autonomy. The local government chairman’s sitting chair will not be bending like one I saw recently.”
    ‎
‎The ADC candidate also identified agriculture, electricity, youth employment and investment as major areas of focus in his development agenda, promising to create an environment capable of attracting investors and expanding economic opportunities for residents.
    ‎
‎According to him, his administration would boost agriculture and actively encourage investment in the state, particularly in the power sector, to improve electricity supply and support economic activities.
    ‎
‎“I will boost agriculture and bring in investors to provide electricity for the people of the state and ensure employment opportunities for the youths,” Adegboyega said.
    ‎
‎He further pledged to address challenges in the education sector, particularly the growing number of children who are out of school, describing the issue as one that requires urgent and sustained government intervention.
    ‎
‎Adegboyega said his administration, if elected, would tackle the educational deficit in the state and implement measures aimed at ensuring that children of school age have access to quality education.
    ‎
‎The inauguration of the campaign council marks a significant step in the ADC candidate’s preparations for the 2027 governorship election, with the newly appointed Campaign Director-General, Kesh, expected to coordinate the campaign structure and mobilisation efforts across the state.
