2027: Oyo Billionaire Guber Hopeful, Adegoke Breaks Silence on Missing Makinde, PDP Logo on Billboards

Adegoke’s explanation came amid heightened political tension in Oyo State, as aspirants position themselves ahead of the next election cycle.

A frontline gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke (FCA), has dismissed swirling rumours that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that the absence of Governor Seyi Makinde and the party’s logo on his billboards was a calculated compliance with electoral regulations, not a political defection.

Adegoke’s explanation came amid heightened political tension in Oyo State, as aspirants position themselves ahead of the next election cycle.

In an exclusive interview with Goalpoachernews on Tuesday, Chief Adegboyega who spoke through his media aide, Comrade Raji Adebayo, he clarified that the billboards, which have appeared across all geo-political zones of the state, were deliberately designed without party insignia to avoid breaching the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) campaign rules.

According to him the aspirant sought and obtained clearance from the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) before deploying the outdoor materials.

Adegoke was quoted as saying, “I did not put the PDP logo right from the beginning because I didn’t want to violate INEC campaign rules.

“I am a law-abiding citizen and I have no intention of running foul of the law, no matter the pressure or speculation.”

Addressing claims that the missing images signalled a rift with Governor Makinde or a planned exit from the PDP, the Ibadan-born businessman described such narratives as “false, mischievous and politically motivated.”

He stressed that his loyalty to the PDP remained total and unquestionable,” adding that: “I remain fully in the PDP,” Adegoke declared.

“All my vehicles are branded with the PDP logo. Anyone who cares to check will see that clearly.”

“There is no truth in the rumour that I have dumped the party or that I am working against Governor Seyi Makinde.”

The gubernatorial hopeful further revealed that the current billboards were only temporary, assuring party faithful and supporters that fresh materials bearing the PDP logo would be unveiled as soon as INEC officially lifts the ban on campaigns.

“Immediately INEC lifts the ban on campaigns, you will see new billboards.

“Those billboards will fully reflect my political identity and my party. What we have now is simply about compliance, not compromise.”
