2027 Signals Emerge as JDS Deepens Grassroots Investment, Backs Strategic Alliances in Ona Ara

The Okanlomo Oodua and Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to grassroots development with a major intervention worth over ₦6 million alongside the donation of solar-powered streetlights to communities in Ona Ara Local Government.

The intervention was unveiled during the monthly meeting of the JDS Electrification and Community Development Initiative, held in Akanran under the leadership of Oloye Abiola Akeweje.

Addressing a large gathering of community stakeholders and residents, Sanusi maintained that his mission remains purely humanitarian, distancing himself from partisan politics.

“I am not a politician and not ready to become one. What I am doing is simply service to humanity in my own little way. I am yet to see what political office holders are doing that I have not been doing, be it electricity, roads, healthcare support, judiciary assistance, and education for the less privileged.”

He commended the people of Ona Ara for their collective political consciousness and support during the 2023 general elections, particularly for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that his contributions to society have been independent of any political reward.

Looking ahead to 2027, Sanusi emphasized the importance of unity and grassroots decision-making:

“As 2027 approaches, we will come together and decide who to support by ourselves and for our collective interest.”

As part of the intervention, Sanusi announced a donation of ₦2 million each to Elewe, Origbo, and Aba Ede communities to support ongoing electrification projects. In addition, solar streetlights were provided for boundary areas lacking electricity to enhance security and curb criminal activities, particularly kidnapping.

In a move seen as politically strategic, he declared support for Hon. Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji (OTOPE) as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency, and Hon. Adeniji Sunday Enukami of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ona Ara State House of Assembly seat in the forthcoming 2027 elections.

Also speaking at the event, former Lagelu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi, urged the people to remain steadfast in their support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, emphasizing the need to sustain the Yoruba presidency for a complete eight-year tenure.

Community leaders and residents, in their responses, expressed deep appreciation to Sanusi for his consistent interventions and prayed for his continued strength and prosperity, describing him as a pillar of development and a beacon of hope for underserved communities.
