Applicants are also expected to demonstrate passion for youth issues and leadership, possess clean criminal and drug-free records, and provide relevant identification documents, including Local Government identification and birth certificates.

The statement added that the Youth Parliament operates under an established framework and standing order that gives young people a recognised voice in governance and creates an avenue for them to contribute meaningfully to policy formulation in the state.
It noted that members of the parliament are expected to represent the interests of youths in their constituencies, advocate policies that promote youth development, and engage communities to better understand real challenges facing young people.
Eligible candidates are to complete registration through the agency’s official website and submit printed copies of their forms with supporting documents to the Office of the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, between April 14 and April 28, 2026.
He added that “The Youth Parliament remains a platform where future leaders are groomed, voices are heard, and young people are prepared for greater responsibilities in governance and society.”
The statement further highlighted that participants would also gain valuable skills in communication, negotiation, assertiveness, critical thinking, civic responsibility and conflict resolution.
The initiative is expected to deepen youth participation in governance while nurturing leadership capacity among young people across Oyo State.
