Thirty-five years after the passing of renowned businessman, industrialist and philanthropist, Chief Adeseun Ayisa Ogundoyin, family members, associates and religious leaders on Thursday gathered at his Adetoro Estate, Sango, Eruwa, to commemorate his enduring legacy and offer prayers for the repose of his soul.
The remembrance service, held at the family mausoleum, marked the 35th anniversary of the death of the respected community leader, who passed away on June 18, 1991.
The event featured an interfaith prayer session attended by members of the Ogundoyin family, friends and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the life and contributions of the late patriarch to the development of Eruwaland and beyond.
Leading the Christian prayer session was Reverend Sola Ogunbiyi of First Baptist Church, Anko, Eruwa, who delivered a message of exhortation and encouraged family members to uphold the values of integrity, generosity and service exemplified by the late Chief Ogundoyin throughout his lifetime.
Also participating in the Christian prayers was Prophet Z.O. Akinyode, Minister-in-Charge of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ajilete, Anko, Eruwa, who offered prayers for the family and urged them to remain united and steadfast in preserving the legacy left behind by their father.
The Islamic prayers were led by Alhaji Fadeelat Sheikh Moshood Abdulsalam Oladele, the Chief Ajanasi of Eruwaland, who prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and for continued peace, progress and prosperity for the Ogundoyin family.
In their separate remarks, the clerics extolled the virtues of the late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, describing him as a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and community builder whose life was dedicated to the service of humanity.
They noted that his numerous contributions to education, economic development and community advancement continue to impact lives decades after his demise, urging younger generations to emulate his commitment to hard work, selflessness and public service.
Speaking during the remembrance service, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, paid glowing tribute to his late father, describing him as a man whose life was defined by compassion, generosity and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his people.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to God for the enduring legacy of his father and appreciated family members, friends and associates who joined in honouring his memory.
Also speaking, Mrs. Remi Ogundoyin reflected on the values and principles instilled by their late father, noting that his teachings continue to guide the family in their personal and professional lives.
She described the annual remembrance as an opportunity to celebrate a life of impact and to renew the family’s commitment to preserving the ideals for which Chief Ogundoyin was known.
The remembrance activities culminated in special prayers held inside the family mausoleum, where members of the immediate family gathered to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late business mogul.
Chief Adeseun Ayisa Ogundoyin remains widely remembered as one of Eruwa’s most distinguished sons whose investments, philanthropy and community service left an indelible mark on Ibarapaland and Oyo State.
