In a world reshaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Seyi Makinde is leading Oyo State on a transformative journey from the traditional healthcare landscape to a modernized paradigm, particularly in the realm of primary healthcare.

Collaborating with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, spearheaded by the dynamic leadership of Hon. Seun Ashamu, the administration is pioneering innovative solutions to ensure accessible, reliable, and quality healthcare services for all residents

At the forefront of this revolution is the strategic deployment of solar power solutions in 23 primary healthcare centers across the state. This groundbreaking initiative not only addresses the challenge of erratic electricity supply but also revolutionizes healthcare delivery, especially in remote and underserved areas.

With a consistent power source, these centers can now operate vital medical equipment, store vaccines effectively, and deliver essential healthcare services to communities regardless of their geographical location.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, under the stewardship of Hon. Seun Ashamu, has played a pivotal role in driving the successful implementation of these solar power solutions. His unwavering dedication and expertise have been instrumental in ushering in this transformative change in the healthcare sector, aligning seamlessly with Governor Makinde’s vision for sustainable development.

Beyond healthcare infrastructure, Oyo State is also leading the charge in renewable energy and sustainable development under the “Light Up Oyo” initiative. By strategically installing street lights across urban and rural areas, the state is enhancing visibility, promoting safety, and stimulating economic activities after sunset. This initiative not only contributes to economic growth but also fosters social resilience and community cohesion.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, is driving remarkable progress in primary healthcare and energy management in Oyo State.

Through their visionary leadership and commitment to innovation, they are transforming lives and charting a path towards a brighter, more sustainable future for all residents.
