A lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Akinyele Constituency 1, Hon. Lekan Abiola, has eulogised Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, a prominent politician and the first female Speaker in the history of the state, as a paragon of leadership and inspiration for many.
According to him, in his congratulatory message to Sunmonu, “Her remarkable journey in politics has paved the way for future generations of women leaders. Senator Sunmonu embodies strength, resilience, and dedication to service.”
The lawmaker opined that her contributions to the political landscape are invaluable.
“Her vision and commitment to the welfare of the people are qualities that every politician should aspire to emulate,” he stated.
Hon. Abiola, however, urged politicians in the country to take a cue from Sunmonu’s exemplary leadership, saying that: “We must prioritise the needs of our constituents and engage with them sincerely, just as Senator Sunmonu has done throughout her career and she is still doing.”
“As Senator Sunmonu celebrates this significant milestone, her legacy continues to inspire others in the realm of public service,” he emphasised.
