8th Day Fidau: Late Alhaji Waheed Kola Salami Lived An Accomplished, Fulfilled Life – Governor Makinde

 

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has expressed condolences to the Salami family over the departure of their patriarch, Alhaji Waheed Kola Salami, who passed away last week at an advanced age of 80 years.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Makinde described the Salami family patriarch as an accomplished and fulfilled man who left behind laudable legacies in the quality of children making great impacts within the society among which is Architect Salam Azeez.

While speaking at the 8th day Fidau prayer, an Islamic funeral rite, attended by numerous dignitaries in Ibadan on Monday, July 22, Ogunwuyi urged the bereaved family to take solace in the will of God Almighty the giver and taker of all life.

He prayed God repose the soul of the departed and grant the bereaved family fortitude to bear the pain of his passing while calling on the children to remain united and strong in their faith in God.

The event was led by the grand Imam of Ibadanland, Fodilat Sheik Imam Abubakar AbdulGaniy Agbotomokeke, and other prominent Islamic scholars.

The event was equally marked by solemn prayers and reflections on the life of the deceased by top Islamic Clerics including Sheikh Muhiydeen Najimdeen, the Amir Waisin Of Oyo State, Sheikh Bashir Olanrewaju Eleshinmeta; The Chief Missioner, Ansar-Ul Deen Society Of Nigeria (Oyo State Division), Sheikh Mudathir Atanda Bada, the Chief Imam of Oluyole Local Government among several others who also sermonised the congregants at the 8th day Fidau.

Architect Salam Azeez, the Principal Partner at ZEALS Nig Ltd, a top Architectural, Engineering and Property firm who also doubles as the Secretary to the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Dawud Akinola Makanjuola, is known as top architectural and property consultant, for his contributions to the advancement of Islam and good governance was visibly moved by the outpouring of support from colleagues, friends and well-wishers who attended the ceremony.

The atmosphere was one of reverence and unity as different speakers in their remarks shared glowing memories of the late patriarch and offered condolences to the grieving family.

Some of the distinguished personalities who spoke glowingly at the ceremony included the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo & Delta States, His Eminence Alh. Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland; Chief Yekini Adeojo, Former CCII President; Chief Bayo Oyero, Iyalode Adinni of Yorubaland; Chief (Mrs) Sidikat Bola Aderibigbe, Asiwaju Adinni of Oyo State; Alh Mutiullah Oladejo, Oyo state CAN Chairman; Col. Joshua Akinyemiju (Rtd), Yeye Aare Of Ibadanland; Chief Mrs Mariam Akinola, Oyo State Commissioners for Environment, Honourable Mogbonjubola Olawale Jagaban AbdulMajeed and Education, Prof. Salihu Adelabu,Baagi Of Shaki, among others.

Other dignitaries present are the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr Akeem Olatunji,his Wife, vice Chairman,former Oluyole Local Government Executive Chairman & Oyo ALGON Boss; Hon. Abass Aleshinloye, top state government officials, business leaders, academias and members of the Islamic community, all of whom came to pay their respects and honor the memory of Architect Salam Azeez’s father.
