The Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has felicitated with Muslims in the state on the celebration of this year’s Maolud-Nabiyi which connotes the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Bayo Lawal, who is the Oyo North Senatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the last general election in a press statement made available to newsmen on Thursday urged Muslim brothers and sisters to live peacefully and imbibe the spirit of love, patience, and perseverance, which according to him, are virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The former Attorney General of the state also urged them to continue supporting the Oyo state government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde and pray for the state and Nigeria at large.
He said: “As Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), I wish all Muslims faithful in Oyo State and across the world a happy Eidul-Mawlid Nabiy celebration.
“Let me also use this opportunity to urge them to continue supporting the Oyo State government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde in prayers. I want to assure them that with support and prayers, we will have the Oyo state of our dream.
“While I pray that the blessings for the season fill our lives and homes, I also want call for peaceful coexistence among religions. Let us imbibe the spirit of love, patience, and perseverance, which are virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”
