How Armed Gangs Terrorize Ibadan Communities For Three Days- Police, Hunter
The peaceful atmosphere of Wesley College area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has been shattered as hoodlums numbering about 700 have been arrested.
As gathered, by GOAPOACHER NEWS.COM, the chaotic situation reigned for about three days before police weighed in.
The National President of Soludero Hunters Association, Oba Wahab Ajijola Anabi who disclosed this to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, said the hoodlums had taken over Labo, Orita Aperin, Elekuro, Kosodo, Oranyan areas of Ibadan where they used dangerous weapons such as animal bones, bottles, pistols, nails, and clubs to wound the residents of the areas.
Ajijola said, while the attacks lasted, a man was stabbed to death. “A man was killed at Kosodo area. He was stabbed to death.
They were about 700 hoodlums invited from neighbouring streets. They used pistols, animal bones, bottles and clubs to stab and wound people”.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, told The Guardian that one person died in the bedlam while police had dispersed them. He added that the police made one arrest.
Fadeyi said:”They attacked themselves at around Idi-Oro,Wesley College.
It has been on for the past three days. Police have been on their trail,trying to make sure they forestall all these attacks. Police dispersed them and they all ran away. One died and one person arrested”
