In a proactive move aimed at strengthening security and ensuring a peaceful celebration ahead of the Ileya festival, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke Ayodele convened a strategic security meeting with heads and representatives of various security agencies operating within the local government area.

The meeting, which focused on reviewing the current security situation and developing preventive measures ahead of the festive period brought together representatives of the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, NDLEA, Vigilante Group, Agbekoya, Hunters Association, OPC and other critical security stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Adeleke commended the steadfast commitment, sacrifices and professionalism demonstrated by security personnel in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property across Ibarapa Central. He acknowledged their efforts in preserving stability and creating a safer environment for residents.

The Chairman further charged all security agencies to intensify collaboration, strengthen intelligence sharing and remain vigilant before, during and after the Ileya celebrations to ensure the continued safety of the people.

“Security remains a collective responsibility. I appreciate the dedication of all our security operatives who continue to work tirelessly for the peace and stability we enjoy in Ibarapa Central. As we approach the festive season, there is a need for greater synergy and proactive measures to sustain this peace,” Hon. Adeleke stated.

During the interactive session, representatives of the various security outfits highlighted some of the operational challenges confronting them and presented recommendations on measures required to improve security architecture not only during the Ileya festival but also for long-term peace and stability within the local government.

The discussions centered on enhancing inter-agency cooperation, strengthening local intelligence networks, addressing emerging security concerns and adopting practical strategies to safeguard communities against potential threats.

The Chairman assured all security agencies of his administration’s continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing initiatives that promote peace, security and sustainable development across Ibarapa Central.
