In a remarkable display of youth participation in the political activities of Ibarapa Central, more than 1,000 youths took to the streets yesterday for a solidarity walk tagged “1,000 Youths Walk for APM Candidates,” bringing the activities of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) into focus ahead of the 2027 general election.

The walk, which attracted participants from different communities across Ibarapa Central, was organised to recognise the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusola Adeleke Ayodele and highlight the activities of the APM candidates across the constituency.

The solidarity walk brought together young people from across Ibarapa Central to demonstrate their support for the APM candidates seeking to represent the party in the 2027 general elections. The candidates which included in the focus of the exercise are Engr. Seyi Makinde for President, Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi for Governor, Hon. Stanley Olajide Odidiomo for Senate, Hon. Adebayo Adepoju for the House of Representatives, Hon. Lateef Akorede for the State House of Assembly and Hon. Olusola Adeleke Ayodele for the Chairmanship of Ibarapa Central Local Government. The massive youth turnout placed all six candidates at the centre of the solidarity exercise.

A major focus of the exercise was the developmental projects and ongoing initiatives of the Adeleke-led administration. The organisers described the gathering as an opportunity for young people to publicly identify with the issues of governance, grassroots development and political representation that affect their communities.

The event also provided a platform for participants to demonstrate their interest in the political process and draw attention to the role of young people in shaping conversations about leadership and the future of their communities.

With more than 1,000 participants taking part, the exercise stood out as a significant youth gathering in Ibarapa Central, bringing together young people around the organisers’ stated objective of recognising the Chairman’s administration and the APM candidates.

The walk adds to the growing political activities in the constituency as attention gradually shifts towards the 2027 general election.
