Makinde’s aide, Kazeem Bolarinwa Meets Aggrieved Labiran Youths, Preaches Peace
The Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Youth and Sports, Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa has urged youths in Ibadan and Oyo State to embrace peace and join hands in building the state.
Bolarinwa gave the advice on Monday after meeting with selected representatives of the aggrieved youths of Labiran, who went up in arms against youths from Ita- Baale and Ogbori Efon over the last weekend.
According to him, the best way for the youth to develop is to shun violence in order to benefit from the Governor Makinde’s economic drive.
He advised the youth to key into the State Government’s youth empowerment programs so as not to be left out. His words:
“Our best bet is to shun any call for violence and focus more on growing the economy.”
“Those who incite violence will only succeed in destroying what has been built over the years through hard work,’’ he said.
The Governor’s aide, however, urged the youth to use legal means in settling provocations rather than taking laws into their hands.
The youths appreciated the Governor for promptly coming to their aid and for initiating the peace meeting. They promised to be law abiding. In the meeting was the Mogaji of Labiran compound who coordinated it peacefully.
