SANITATION: Makinde’s Aide, Kazeem Bolarinwa Joins Youths to Clean Labiran Community in Ibadan (PHOTOS)
The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Youth and Sports, Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa on Saturday urged residents of Oyo State to keep their environment greener and cleaner.
Hon Kazeem gave the advice on Saturday during the monthly environmental sanitation, when he joined some youths and a Non- Governmental Organization at the cleaning up exercise around Labiran community and it environs.
According to him, environment determines our wellbeing and our live.
“It is one of the visions of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure that the state capital is kept clean and the initiative being a youth-led organisation makes it important for me to partake in the exercise.
“This is to send signal to everybody that it is our right to keep the environment clean.
“I am also using this avenue to sensitise our people to be conscious of how they dispose their wastes,” he said.
Kazeem advised people of Oyo State to desist from their nonchalant attitude and indiscriminate waste disposal.
“So, what I want people to know is that our actions toward the environment determines a lot of things that is affecting our wellbeing.
“For example, the flooding we had in some communities in communities last year was because of people’s nonchalant attitude and indiscriminate disposal of waste, and were causing all these degradation of our environment.
“Oyo residents should be conscious of their environment and take it as part of their livelihood to make sure their environment is safe, green and clean for everyone to live,” he said.
The youths and the Non-Governmental Organization lauded the Governor’s aide for being a responsible youth, a role model and for providing waste truck that made the exercise a huge success.
