Deprived Atiba royal families for ascension to the throne of Alaafin of Oyo have sought support for the implementation of 1976 Chieftaincy Declaration. Nigeria Tribune reports.

The affected families while seeking the support of Oloja during a visit requested the implementation of the Ladehinde Commission of Enquiry.

They submitted that it would pave the way for their families and two others to participate in the selection of the new Alafin.

The Atiba children have expressed their disagreement with the defective 1961 declaration, which was allegedly used to select the new Alafin.

The Oloja, who had betrothed Efunrogun to Atiba, the mother of Adelabu Baba Ibadan, promised to support the sidelined families using all legal means to help them overcome the obstacles preventing them from ascending to their ancestral throne. He urged them to remain steadfast and united in championing their common cause.
