AWOTAN-ARAROMI COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL NEEDS GOVERNMENT ATTENTION
Poor schooling has proved to be the greatest barrier to political, social and economic transformation in our society. School infrastructure facilities have been observed as a potent factor to qualitative education.
The condition of Awotan-Araromi Community High School, Awotan (senior) is highly reprehensible and unpalatable for students to learn under conducive atmosphere, and, this doesn’t glorify our state as the “PACE SETTER”
At Awotan-Araromi Community High School, The school management, school governing board and PTA are trying their best to savage the situation. Dear listening and compassionate Governor,it will be of interest to know that the school’s fence is porous as it allows armed gangs to keep invading the school in broad daylight to intimidate and harrass both students and teachers.
Other areas that need Oyo State Government urgent attention and intervention includes but not limited to the number ofteaching personnel, especially science teachers, conducive classrooms, provision of functional laboratories and library in the school.
The roofs of the ageing school buildings are depressed in the middle, indicating that it might cave in anytime, therefore putting the lives of the students and teachers at risk.
I commend the free education policy of the present administration which has since reduced the numbers of out of school children in the state. In addition, I commend Governor Seyi Makinde for giving education the budget standard almost at stipulated percent by UNESCO.
Mr Governor Sir, all these landmark achievements may be eroded if the schools in Oyo State remain in the state of infrastructure dilapidation, lack of adequate teaching staff, conducive classrooms and infrastructures.
