Tommy Commiserates With Victims of Ibadan Explosion, Hails Gov Makinde’s Proactive Steps
The Chairman, Oyo State Park Management System, PMS, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa (Tommy) has expressed his sympathy to victims, residents and business owners at Bodija and environs following the explosion that rocked the axis on Tuesday night.
The explosion left over 77 people injured and fatalities recorded.
Tommy in a statement made available to newsmen by his media aide, Onaolapo Omiyale, lauded the swift response from Governor Seyi Makinde by visiting the scene to ascertain the root cause and the level of damage caused by the explosion.
“I, Alhaji (Amb) Abdulwasiu Omolewa Oluwatomiwa, popularly known as Tommy sincerely sympathise with the Oyo State Government, The Olubadan of Ibadanland and Victims of the Ibadan unexpected explosion.
“The explosion is an uncommon incident which rocks Ibadan city Tuesday night and I feel very sad hearing about the heart disturbing news, my heartfelt condolences to His Imperial Majesty Oba Mohood Ishola Olalekan Balogun (Olubadan of Ibadanland), Oyo State Governor Engr. Abiodun Oluwaseyi Makinde and the victims involved.
“The explosion which occurred at Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State and leaving many homeless and some families mourning of lives loss.
“I really commend the swift action of the Oyo State Government and most especially the Governor of the state for his presence at the scene of the event and gestures to support those involved in the scenario.
“Oyo State and Nigeria shall never experience such a disturbing and regretting incident anymore by the special grace of God almighty.
“I hereby admonished everyone in Oyo State to speak out when observing any strange activities in the localities.”
