    Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) bags Award of Excellence

    In recognition of his outstanding performance and contributions to societal development in Afijio Local Government; the Executive Chairman Afijio Local Government, Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) was presented an Award of Excellence by the School of Secondary Education(Arts and Social Science Programmes) Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo during the opening Ceremony of the 17th Biennial National Conference and Award Ceremony, Themed: “THE QUEST FOR PEACE AND SECURITY IN AFRICA AND THE ROLE OF NIGERIAN IN THE FACE OF MULTIDIMENSIONAL CHALLENGES” held at TIM OBANI HALL, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo.

    Speaking at the event, Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) dedicated the award to His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, who has served as his exemplary leader and role model.

    He also extended his congratulations to Governor Seyi Makinde for receiving the Prestigious Governor of the year 2023 award from Leadership Newspaper.

    While thanking the management of Leadership Newspaper for acknowledging Governor Seyi Makinde achievements which has contributed to the rapid development of our dear State.

    Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo further expressed his sincere appreciation to all residents and citizens of Afijio Local Government for their support so far and soliciting continuous support for the present administration in oyo state in order to enjoy more robust dividends of democracy.

    Hon.Bunmi Jenyo ,the Chairman of occasion, guest lecturers Prof. E.B.Agbaje from the Department of Political Science, Osun State University and Dr. B. Gbadamosi Former Acting Provost, Osun State College of Education Ila Orangun, also delivered speeches.

    They urged Nigerians and Federal government to prioritize agriculture, maintain peace and tranquility at all times. That is; whenever they see something they should say something.

    The federal government should establish and fund state and local government security outfits to promote communal security and improved social-political processes while promoting equality.

    Other notable awardees included,
    Hon. Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi (SKIMEH), Member Federal House of Representatives,
    Hon. Bunmi Jenyo – the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce & Industry Osun State, Hon. Bimbo Abolarinwa Ayeni a.k.a. Oba of London, Hon. Clement Akanni Ademola (OLOHUNWA).

    The Chairman was represented by the Chief of Staff Afijio Local Government – Hon. Wumi Akinrinola.

    The event was attended by Dr. A.R. Salami the Provost FCE(S), Oyo, Mr. J.A. Araoye- Registrar FCE(S), Dr. Oluyemisi Adegbite the Dean School of Arts and Science FCE (S) NASU representatives among others.
