‘Stop Talking Like God’ Iseyin Group Cautions K1
…Calls on Police, DSS To Investigate Threat Claim By Former Drummer
A sociocultural group, Ebedi Frontliners, Iseyin (E.F.I) has called on the Fuji Musician, Wasiu Ayinde to stop threatening the life of his ex-lead drummer, Ayankunle Ayanlowo, an indigene of Ado-Awaye in Iseyin local government area.
The group, in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by its Director of Publicity, Alhaji Segun Fasasi on Wednesday, said the police authority in Nigeria as well as the Directorate of State Security (DSS) should as a matter of urgency, invite the musician to explain his part in the claim by Ayankunle that some people were trailing him and his family for speaking out against his former boss.
The drummer recently released trending video, telling the world about why he left the band and how the Fuji musician has turned himself and other band members to slaves over poor welfare package and hoarding of their traveling document, which K1 denied, saying all drummers complain too much and in love of money.
EFI said K1’s defense in a video where he said complaining is the only thing drummers do and the foundation of drummers, showed him usurping the role of God, as he he was not better off to Ayankunle or any other individual that took drumming as a vocation.
“In that video and other ones in which he addressed people, he talked like God, he has forgotten that he started as a nobody but met God’s grace later in life, K1 needs to thread softly and desist from treating fellow humans like slaves.
“We have been watching for long to see where this skirmish would end but cannot continue to watch when Ayankunle who is our brother came out to say he was attacked twice by some people in Ibadan and got his phone damaged in the process, though he escaped unscathed, this is barbaric and uncalled for, we know the musician has cult-like follower-ship who can attack his perceived enemies which portend great danger to our brother.”
The group called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Director General of the Directorate of State Security, Yusuff Bichi, to urgently commence investigation into the allegation of threat to life by the former drummer.
They said the security agencies should invite K1 and get his assurance that Ayankunle’s life will be safe alongside his wife and children, so that the drummer will not die like other entertainers who cried out against threats to their lives but were not waved off by the society.
“We are using this medium to call on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of DSS to urgently wade into this case, we do not want his case to be like that of the late Mobadh who had died before Nigerians and the security started asking for the cause.”
The group however appreciated the show of love by many Nigerians at home and abroad for Ayanlowo before and immediately after he came out to talk about his experience under his former boss.
EFI urged them not to relent in helping other people in the same condition as according to the statement, the support garnered on social media platforms for the drummer forced K1 to respond to the allegations.
