Constituents Rejoice As Ibarapakan Commissions Nine Developmental Projects, Flags Off Sagaun-Onimangoro Road
Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commissioned nine of his completed sponsored constituency projects in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
The projects, which include a solar-powered cold room, three cassava processing plants, motorised boreholes, and others, are aimed at improving the standard of living in the constituency.
The programme was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in various communities in the federal constituency.
The commissioning also featured an official flag-off ceremony for the rehabilitation of Sagaun-Onimangoro Road, Igboora.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Adepoju expressed his gratitude to the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North for giving him the mandate to represent them in the Nigerian House of Representatives. He noted that the support, words of encouragement and advice from the people of the two local government areas have been the driving force behind his unwavering commitment to serving the constituency.
According to Ibarapakan, the solar-powered cold room will reduce food waste and increase productivity, while the cassava processing plants will provide a sustainable source of income for farmers. He said the motorised boreholes in different locations within the constituency will ensure access to clean water.
He appreciated the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and key stakeholders in the constituency, saying that without them, the commissioned projects would largely be a mirage. Ibarapakan also appreciated valuable contributions, brilliant ideas and commitment to the shared vision of the current representation in the constituency.
“As we commission these projects today, I want to assure you, the good and hardworking people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, that we will continue to work tirelessly to address pressing issues and challenges facing our constituency. We will strive to create an enabling environment for economic growth, social development and political stability that we can always promise with a sheer spirit of fulfilment,” he said.
The lawmaker also highlighted his efforts in facilitating job opportunities for constituents in various government agencies and parastatals, stressing that the employment letters of another twelve individuals in the constituency will be ready in the next few weeks.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, who also doubles as Chairman of the Nigeria-Romanian Friendship Group, also expressed his strong commitment to special educational intervention programmes, which he said have enhanced the quality of education in the constituency. He disclosed that beneficiaries of his scholarship offers at various tertiary institutions of learning are currently making the region proud, saying that those educational initiatives are reviving the spirit of academic competitiveness in the constituency.
Ibarapakan enjoined the community members to make judicious use of the various commissioned facilities so as to achieve the purpose for which they were facilitated.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by constituents in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, dignitaries, including the Governor of Oyo State, represented by Hon. Ademola Obafemi Ojo, Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Investment and Cooperatives, traditional rulers and key stakeholders in the constituency.
