Afijio LG Boss, Hon. Olufemi Aikomo Lights-up Ilora, Fiditi, Awe, Jobele

 

In an effort to bolster the initiatives of the Executive Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde in upholding peace and security throughout Oyo State where lives and properties of all residents are safe be it in daylight or midnight through installation of functioning street lights on the major roads in the state, the Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Olufemi Aikomo has presented 10 Solar Powered Security Street Lights each to Ilora Town, Fiditi Town , Awe Town and Jobele Town.

The official presentation was executed by the Executive Chairman today at the the local government secretariat Jobele.

Hon. Olufemi Aikomo also explained that his administration realized the need to curb or eradicate crimes like kidnapping, theft which usually occurred in the darkness, hence this project. “We will extend the gesture to other parts of the local government as time goes on ” Chairman promised.

Hon.Aikomo further used the opportunity to seek unflinching support of all sons and daughters of Afijio Local Government in order to enjoy robust dividends of democracy from his administration.

In their goodwill messages; the Vice Chairman Hon.Tajudeen Adegoke, Hon. David Adeyemo- the leader of the Legislative, Dr. Mrs Agnes Ojo – the Head of Local Government Administration expressed sincere gratitude to the Executive Governor for the style of leadership he demonstrated in Pace Setter State while they advised the community leaders to guard the project to avoid damage or theft.

In their separate responses; the representatives of the communities expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Chairman and his team for this kind gesture. They further stated that provision of Solar Powered Street Lights to their communities will go a long way in strengthening security architecture because illumination affords residents and passerby to have a clear vision of the highway and this avert sudden attacks usually encountered in the dark areas.

The event was witnessed by all honourable councilors,other political functionaries and local government directors.
