Int’l Day of the Girl Child: Seun Olufade Distributes Sanitary Pads to Female Students

 

In celebration of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, has distributed sanitary pads to JSS 3 students at Saint Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan North Local Government.

The event was tagged “Pad Up a Girl Child.”

The event saw Hon. Olufade represented by Alhaja Nojimudeen Kudirat, the Director of Education and General Services for Ibadan North Local Government; Oloye Ademola Titilope Ajibola, his Special Assistant on Education; Aderibigbe Yisahu, his Head of Media; and several heads of departments within the local government.

In her remarks, Alhaja Nojimudeen Kudirat expressed her joy at celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child with the students.

She conveyed Hon. Olufade’s pride in the girls and his belief in their potential to become future leaders, including judges, doctors, engineers, and scientists.

She cited the example of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Chief Justice of Nigeria, to inspire the students.

Alhaja Kudirat said the Chairman implored the girls to remain studious and obedient to their parents.

Oloye Ademola Titilope Ajibola, the Special Assistant on Education, also addressed the students.

He urged them to dream big and break away from outdated notions that girls should only aspire to domestic roles.

He highlighted global figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Funke Akindele, Kiki, and Kamala Harris as examples of women who have made significant impacts.

Ademola encouraged the students to build their vocational skills alongside their academic pursuits.

Mrs. Ayeni Christiana Omowumi, the Principal of Saint Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan, expressed her gratitude to Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade for recognizing and celebrating the girl child.

She prayed for his continued success and wisdom in leading Ibadan North Local Government.

The distribution of sanitary pads brought immense joy to the students, who expressed their best wishes for Hon. Olufade’s success in all his endeavors.

The school management also appreciated the Chairman and his representatives for their support and prayed for his continued success.

The delegation included Alhaja Nojimudeen Kudirat, Mrs. Foluso Olufunke Lala (Director of Information), Mrs. Sani Victoria Aderonke (Women Development Officer), Oloye Ademola Titilope Ajibola, Aderibigbe Yisahu, Ogundeji Dasola (Personal Assistant to the Chairperson), and media team members Afolabi Ayodamope, Ojoawo Olajide, and Mojisola Akinrinade.
