Aseyin Seeks Collaboration With Water Corporation to Boost Water supply in Iseyin
The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale has called for stronger collaboration between his domain and the Oyo State Water Corporation to improve water supply in Iseyin and its environs.
He made this call during a recent one-day visit to by the Agency’s Chairman, Hon. Elias Adeojo to Iseyin on Wednesday.
Adeojo said the Oyo State Government would not relent in its effort in provision of potable water to the residents of the state at large.
The Chairman disclosed that the major obstacle for adequate supply of water in Iseyin and environs is power as obtained everywhere in the State.
He stated that effort is still ongoing to curtail the situation as the Governor of the State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has mandated him to restore water to all the geopolitical zones of the State.
“Provision of potable water is one of the agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde and he has given directive in that regard with adequate support and assistance”, the Chairman said.
Earlier in his remarks, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale said despite the challenges, he remained optimistic, stressing that collective action can overcome the difficulties currently facing the provision of potable water in Iseyin.
He expressed hope that the meeting would yield actionable and implementable outcomes, contributing significantly to water supply in Iseyin.
The Monarch reiterated that he is aware of fruitful partnership between the government and the Soun of Ogbomoso on provision of water to Ogbomoso hence his invitation to the Executive Chairman of the State Water Corporation.
He used the medium to eulogise the Governor for having the people of Oke-Ogun, particularly Iseyin at heart in his efforts in driving Oyo State forward.
