In a proactive move to improve the security architecture of Akinyele Local Government, The Executive Chairman, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, recently convened a significant meeting with local hunters and other non-state actors.

The gathering aimed to foster collaboration between traditional security measures and formal law enforcement to address the growing concerns of safety and crime in the area. The initiative underscores the importance of engaging community stakeholders in the quest for a safer environment.

During the meeting, Hon. Akinleye highlighted the valuable roles that local hunters and other non state actors play in maintaining security, particularly in rural areas where conventional policing may face challenges. By leveraging their knowledge of the terrain and their connection to the community, these hunters can serve as additional eyes and ears, aiding in crime prevention and response.

The council boss emphasized the need for a united front against criminal elements, calling for a strategic partnership that utilizes the strengths of both formal and informal security groups.

Representatives of the various security groups in the meeting expressed their commitment to working alongside the local government to enhance security architecture within the Local Government. Ideas were exchanged on establishing communication channels between hunters and law enforcement agencies, ensuring a coordinated approach to tackling crime. The collaboration aims not only to deter criminal activities but also to build trust within the community, fostering a sense of collective responsibility for safety.

As Akinyele Local Government strives to improve its security framework, the engagement of non-state actors like local hunters marks a significant step towards a more comprehensive and inclusive strategy.

Hon. Akinleye’s leadership in this initiative reflects a commitment to creating a safer environment for all residents, reinforcing the belief that community involvement is crucial in the fight against crime.
