    Ibadan State: Mogajis, CCII, Baales, ICPI, Others Hail Oseni, Odidiomo, Others at House of Rep Public Hearing

    The Ibadan Obas, Mogajis, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Baales, Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiatives (ICPI), and other stakeholders have commended the presence of lawmakers from Oyo State at the House of Representatives public hearing held in Lagos over amendment of 1999 Constitution of Nigeria and creation of new states which Ibadan State is inclusive.

    The lawmakers at the event include the lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest/Northeast federal constituency, Hon. Stanley Odidiomo, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin (Ibadan Southeast/Northeast federal constituency), Hon. Engr. Aderemi Abass Oseni, (Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency) and moral support from Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Skimeh representing Oyo Federal Constituency

    Recall that former Acting General Secretary of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), who also double as the Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade few days ago led stakeholders in Ibadanland to the Zonal Public Hearing on 1999 Constitutional Review organised by House of Representatives in Lagos on creation of new states.

    Akinade, who spoke at the event on behalf of CCII President General, Barr. Chief Niyi Ajewole, Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland who is currently in UK to attend Ibadan Day Celebration in London was joined by Asiwaju of Ibarapaland and a respected Industrialist, Chief Fadairo, Mogaji Yomi Gbadamosi and Alagba Sulaiman Iyanda, they were equally joined by Chief Mrs Bola Doherty, MFR , Chief Niyi Akinola SAN, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Mogaji Demola Olasomi, Mogaji Ajobo, Elder Taiye Ayorinde (Baale Ekotedo) among others.

    A statement by President of Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori and Coordinator Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade hailed the lawmakers for their unwavering dedication to the creation of Ibadan State.

    According to the duo, presence of the lawmakers at the House of Representatives public hearing in Lagos was a testament to their commitment to the noble cause.

    The statement reads, “We appreciate the lawmakers’ tireless efforts in championing the bill, which seeks to unlock development opportunities and bring government closer to the people.

    “Their leadership has been instrumental in mobilizing support from various stakeholders, and we are confident that their efforts will yield positive results.

    “The Ibadan Obas, Mogajis, CCII, Baales, ICPI, and other stakeholders acknowledged the significance of the proposed Ibadan State, which would comprise Eleven (11) local government areas in Ibadanland and three (3) in Ibarapaland, with Ibadan City as its capital.

    “We believe that this new state would promote equity, development, and administrative efficiency.

    “We commend the lawmakers for their meticulous approach, citing historical precedents and leveraging data to make a strong case for the creation of Ibadan State. Their dedication to this cause is a reflection of their commitment to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

    “We appreciate the lawmakers’ tireless efforts in championing the bill, which seeks to unlock development opportunities and bring government closer to the people. Their leadership has been instrumental in mobilizing support from various stakeholders, and we are confident that their efforts will yield positive results.

    “We believe that this new state would promote equity, development, and administrative efficiency.

    “We commend the lawmakers for their meticulous approach, citing historical precedents and leveraging data to make a strong case for the creation of Ibadan State. Their dedication to this cause is a reflection of their commitment to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.”

    The Ibadan Mogajis, CCII, Baales, ICPI, and other stakeholders urge all stakeholders to continue supporting this noble initiative.

    “We believe that the creation of Ibadan State would have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the region and the country at large.

    “We are optimistic about the prospects of the bill, given the growing support from stakeholders and the general public. We commend the lawmakers for their perseverance and dedication to this cause, and we look forward to a successful outcome.”
